ROBERT PLANA

I have spent more than 30 years in the field of R&D, Innovation and Digital transformation. My academic carreer path started by a professor position at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse and at the Institut Universitaire de France in the field of Internet of Things Technologies. I have been one of the first introducing the concept of Cyberphysical Systems. During my academic carreer I authored or co-authored more than 500 papers with more than 6000 citations. I continued my carreer in the R&D and Innovation Management through numerous top management positions at CNRS, National Research Agency and Ministry of higher education and research. My Innovation journey has continued by joining a startup (SiGe Microsystems) as Senior Technology Leader. With Alstom, I set up an innovation program at corporate level articulated round an innovation challenge, 3 joint laboratories with INRIA in France, NTU in Singapore and University of Hong Kong, Startups Incubators in israel and in India, R&D project in the field of predictive maintenance and micro grid. With GE Digital, I built the innovation program around Predix platform through an original innovation accelerator and R&D initiatives in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Digital twin of industrial assets. With ASSYSTEM I am in charge of the Innovation strategy and the digital transformation. I set up a program “Engineering Powered by digital services”.
